The purpose of the Wellbeing Workshop & Volunteer Worker is to support the provision of the Lewisham Wellbeing Hub wellbeing groups and workshops, including peer support and other advisors or service user-led initiatives that help improve the health and wellbeing of the people using the service that complement the other elements of the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and work alongside the Peer Support Coordinator and Peer Support Volunteers / Volunteers.
  • Work collaboratively with people who use the service and fellow members of staff.
  • Support the delivery of groups and workshops within the service that:
    • Increases social activity.
    • Reduces isolation.
    • Facilitates sharing of lived experience.
    • Helps to develop coping strategies.
    • Develops skills that will help in managing daily tasks.
    • Improves connections in the local community.
    • Promotes service user leadership opportunities.
  • Lead communication and digital strategy for:
    • The Lewisham Wellbeing Hub groups and workshops delivery.
    • The Lewisham Wellbeing Hub service.
  • Use a variety of online and marketing materials to:
    • Reach out to potential service users and professionals.
  • Forge and maintain relationships with:
    • Other organizations, agencies, and spaces in the community.
  • Share this knowledge and skills within the team.

  • Group facilitation and coordination

Knowledge 

  • Understanding of mental health and wellbeing principles 
  • Awareness of peer support models and service user-led initiatives 
  • Familiarity with local community resources and services 
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality practices 
  • Experience with workshop planning and delivery 
Expertise
  • Experience working in community or wellbeing services 
  • Ability to co-produce activities with service users 
  • Competence in using digital tools for outreach and promotion 
  • Experience in supporting vulnerable individuals 
  • Ability to promote inclusion and reduce social isolation
