The Flexible Production Specialist is a senior position within the production department. A successful candidate demonstrates technical knowledge and expertise supporting the production process/lines in different roles.
We are currently hiring a FPS for the night shift.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist production teams in a technical capacity.
- Take on the responsibilities of Value Stream Leads when absent, ensuring that the manufacturing process continues smoothly, while adhering to quality standards and safety protocols.
- Support production lines in covering for PTOs, call-offs, staff shortages, high production demands, training, open positions, etc.
- Be a resource for training sessions to upskill employees on SOPs, equipment operation, set-ups, changeovers, etc.
- Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, kaizens, rework, etc. Identify inefficiencies in production processes and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Assist less-experienced workers so that the entire team can work effectively when requested by Value Stream Managers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and implement process changes or improvements.
- Support proper line set ups/changeovers to maximize line availability for production.
- Understands and follows all food safety requirements including GMPs, relevant SOPs and employee handbook.
- Complies with company SOPs, GMPs, and SQF requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required Education and Experience Associate or Bachelor’s degree but experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Min 2 years of experience in production process and line operation is necessary.
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience in a food production environment.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
Knowledge and experience with Continuous improvement tools.
Prior experience working for a GMP/ FDA regulated facility.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does have direct reports.
Work Environment
This job operates in a production setting.
Work on wet and/or dry production lines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to allergens (such as peanuts, eggs, etc.), odors, fumes, dust or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
The temperature of the warehouse depends on the weather.
The employee may occasionally be required to taste the products.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The shift is 10 hours.
Day Shift Hours are 5:00am to 3:30pm / Night Shift Hours are 3:20 pm to 1:50 am
Monday – Thursday or Tuesday -– Friday.
Overtime might be required at times.
