Energy Infrastructure Services help customers reduce their energy costs, decarbonize their operations, and connect new facilities to the grid faster by developing private transmission and distribution infrastructure and distributed generation. Services include:

  • Design-build services
  • Infrastructure-as-a-service

Position Overview:

The VP, Infrastructure will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and directing several functions within Infrastructure, including, project management, construction, procurement, on-going operations, and commissioning of grid infrastructure assets. A key component of the role will be to design and implement scalable processes and systems that enable sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and consistency across the infrastructure lifecycle. This leader will ensure that infrastructure assets deliver energy that is efficient, reliable, and cost-effective to Priority Power’s customers.


Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership and Oversight

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the company’s infrastructure portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate growth      objectives and energy efficiency goals.
  • Oversee multiple teams and functions, including project development, project management, construction, procurement, and      operations.
  • Establish performance metrics and reporting structures to track progress, cost control, and operational excellence across all      infrastructure initiatives.

2. Scalable Systems and Process Development

  • Design and implement repeatable, standardized processes across all infrastructure functions to ensure operational consistency, reduce inefficiencies, and support scalability.
  • Introduce technology platforms, tools, and best practices to enable growth while maintaining quality, compliance, and cost control.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to optimize workflows and ensure seamless handoffs between development, construction, and operations.

3.  Project Development Support 

  • Partner with the development team during the origination and pre-award phases to provide technical and operational input on      constructability, procurement strategies, and execution feasibility.
  • Support early-stage project planning by reviewing budgets, schedules, permitting requirements, and risk assessments to ensure alignment with downstream execution capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals and investment cases by offering insights on infrastructure requirements and potential      constraints.

4. Project Delivery

  • Assume full accountability for project execution upon award, managing all aspects of design finalization, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handoff.
  • Direct large-scale construction activities, ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and timeline standards.
  • Oversee procurement strategies to optimize sourcing of materials, services, and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and supply chain resilience.
  • Negotiate major contracts and manage vendor and contractor relationships to achieve best-value outcomes.

5. Operational Excellence

  • Ensure existing energy infrastructure assets are operated and maintained to deliver maximum efficiency, reliability, and uptime for clients.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset performance and reduce lifecycle costs.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance, safety standards, and environmental requirements across all infrastructure assets.

6. Financial and Risk Management

  • Develop and manage capital and operating budgets for infrastructure projects and operations.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, financial, and operational risks associated with infrastructure assets.
  • Support investment decision-making by providing accurate cost forecasts, ROI analysis, and risk assessments to senior leadership.

7. Stakeholder and Customer Engagement

  • Serve as a senior liaison with key clients, regulators, partners, and investors to maintain trust and transparency in project execution.
  • Ensure client energy needs are met with scalable, reliable, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions.
  • Communicate project milestones and operational results to internal and external stakeholders.

8. Team Leadership

  • Build and mentor a high-performing team across project development, construction, operations, and procurement functions.
  • Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and accountability throughout the infrastructure organization.

Requirements

  Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Engineering Management, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 18+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure management, energy operations, or a related industry, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • 10+ years in leadership or management roles overseeing multiple functions, particularly in operations, project management, or infrastructure development.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects from procurement through design, development, construction, and operation.

Leadership & Management Skills:

  • Strong experience in leading cross-functional teams, building collaboration, and driving alignment across departments.
  • Ability to inspire, engage, and empower teams to achieve their full potential and support business growth, with a focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional experience in change management, guiding organizations and teams through transformation or process optimization.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking with the ability to balance long-term vision with short-term operational execution.

Technical & Operational Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of energy infrastructure systems and technologies, with experience in managing critical infrastructure that delivers efficient, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information to senior executives,     clients, and teams.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage and align diverse stakeholder expectations, including senior leadership, partners, clients, and vendors.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization, fostering teamwork, cooperation, and engagement.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, track KPIs, and draw actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to think critically and solve complex, high-stakes problems, ensuring optimal outcomes in the face of challenges.

Certifications (optional but beneficial):

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other project management certifications.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Management certifications to demonstrate expertise in process optimization and operational efficiency.
  • Energy-specific certifications (e.g., LEED, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), etc.) may be advantageous for those focused on the energy infrastructure sector.

Travel

The VP, Infrastructure will be expected to travel about 25% of the time to other Priority Power offices, customer meetings, and construction site locations.
