Position Summary: Manufacturing Engineer
We’re looking for a driven and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll support and improve machining and secondary operations by developing robust, efficient processes that help us deliver the highest quality at the lowest cost. You’ll play a key part in launching new products and improving existing ones, making a real impact across our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the launch of new products following MKC launch procedures and APQP standards
Create and maintain accurate cost estimates for new products
Own and improve assigned machining processes, including:
CNC programming and automation design
Equipment and tooling procurement
Project management and production support
Operator training and process documentation
Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve uptime, reduce scrap, and increase efficiency
Implement engineering changes to support customer and internal needs
Ensure compliance with MKC and IATF 16949:2016 quality standards
Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams for tooling and equipment needs
Contribute to the creation of APQP documentation including PFMEAs, control plans, and inspection sheets
Working Conditions:
This role is based in a heavy manufacturing environment involving machinery, chemicals, and powered equipment. MKC provides safety training and enforces the use of PPE such as hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and gloves. The noise level ranges from moderate to high in some areas.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to talk, listen, stand, stoop, bend, and reach overhead
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs
Frequent walking across the facility is required
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
3–8 years of engineering experience in a machining/manufacturing environment, or 10+ years of equivalent relevant experience
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of CNC machining, multi-axis equipment, fixturing, and tooling
CAD/CAM software experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam)
Deep knowledge of GD&T
Familiarity with high-volume machining, robotics, and automation
Accurate cycle time estimation for quoting
Strong project management and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn new software
Communication Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to read and write in English
