We are seeking a visionary Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead all revenue-generating functions and drive the next phase of strategic growth across platforms, partnerships, and markets. This role will shape and lead the commercial strategy to unlock new business opportunities, deepen brand engagement, and expand Rolling Stone’s global footprint.
Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Growth
- Define and execute a cohesive commercial strategy across advertising, branded content, live events, licensing, syndication, and digital subscription models.
- Identify and launch new revenue streams, business models, and brand extensions aligned with Rolling Stone’s editorial mission and cultural relevance.
- Partner with the CEO and executive team to shape long-term growth plans, P&L oversight, and brand positioning in an evolving media landscape.
Revenue Leadership
- Lead all revenue-generating teams including sales, brand partnerships, business development, and revenue operations.
- Build and manage high-performing teams with clear KPIs and outcomes, fostering a culture of accountability, creativity, and results.
- Expand strategic partnerships with brands, platforms, agencies, and global distributors to maximize monetization.
Brand Partnerships & Innovation
- Lead development of bespoke, integrated campaigns that align partners with Rolling Stone’s voice, audience, and storytelling legacy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, marketing, and audience development teams to deliver premium, high-impact programs.
- Oversee pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategies across Rolling Stone’s platforms: print, digital, video, events, and audio.
Global Expansion
- Scale Rolling Stone’s brand internationally through licensing, joint ventures, events, and editorial partnerships.
- Evaluate new market opportunities and build region-specific commercial strategies that respect cultural nuance and local relevance.
Audience & Data Strategy
- Partner with product and analytics teams to leverage audience insights and first-party data to guide commercial decisions and content monetization strategies.
- Champion the use of performance metrics, dashboards, and forecasting tools to drive growth and optimize campaign performance.
Requirements:
- 15+ years of senior leadership experience in media, publishing, or consumer-facing entertainment brands with proven P&L ownership.
- Deep knowledge of the media sales landscape—across digital, print, experiential, and emerging platforms (e.g., social, streaming, commerce).
- Demonstrated success in leading complex partnerships, brand innovation, and building high-performing sales organizations.
- Strategic thinker with strong operational execution and a bias for action.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in managing and scaling global businesses and working with cross-cultural teams.
- Passion for music, culture, and storytelling with a clear understanding of Rolling Stone’s brand equity and audience
Typical wage range: $180k - $250k + Bonus. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
