Position Summary:

The Edge Coordinator supports the Director of Edge in the administration and execution of short-term missions programs. This role focuses on the recruitment, preparation, coaching, and development of college-aged participants, while actively contributing to the strategic growth and impact of the Edge program.

The ideal candidate is highly relational, detail-oriented, and passionate about mobilizing and mentoring this generation to passionately follow Jesus and discover their role in God’s mission. The candidate is a servant leader who anticipates the needs of the team, takes initiative without waiting for direction, and creates an environment of support and collaboration. This individual thrives in both structured and flexible environments, consistently demonstrates spiritual maturity, and leads with humility and care.




Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Spiritual Commitment:

  • Leadership & Communication:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences. 
  • Experience & Skills:
    • Previous participation in at least one short-term missions trip, preferably with Pioneers. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, and other relevant software. 
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. 
    • An engaging and approachable personality with a passion for mentoring and guiding others toward missions. 
  • Adaptability: 
    • Flexibility to adapt to change, embrace new ideas, and take on new responsibilities with enthusiasm. 
    • Able to thrive in a fluctuating work environment with both high-activity seasons and periods of slower pace, maintaining focus and productivity throughout.
    • Comfortable working with diverse teams and navigating cross-cultural contexts


Responsibilities:

The Edge Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

  • Program Development & Administration: 
    • Assist in the annual planning and execution of the Edge summer program. 
    • Coordinate travel logistics for short-term teams, including flights and visas. 
    • Maintain and update the Edge website with team information and resources. 
    • Maintain accurate candidate records and application processing within internal systems
    • Create and distribute short-term team information packets. 
    • Assist with ongoing program development and strategic planning efforts
    • Plan and coordinate the short-term orientation and debrief program. 
    • Process applications, interview applicants, and manage communication with short-term candidates through pipeline. 
  • Candidate Engagement and Relationship Building:
    • Guide short-term applicants through the onboarding process, from initial interest through team placement
    • Develop and maintain relationships with participants throughout their entire journey in the program
    • Conduct candidate interviews via phone or video
    • Provide mentorship, discipleship, and support before, during, and after field assignments
  • Representation & Travel: 
    • Speak at churches, schools, and conferences to promote the vision and work of Pioneers in both long-term and short-term capacities. 
    • Possible recruitment travel in collaboration with the Recruitment Team. 
    • Represent Pioneers' mobilization efforts through domestic and international travel. 
    • Represent Pioneers with excellence, building connections and fostering partnerships.
  • Support Development:
    • Develop and maintain a personal financial support base to sustain the role. This role is fully support raised. 
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Director of Edge and other team members to ensure the success of the Edge program. 
    • Support and adhere to the guidelines outlined in the O-Team Handbook.
    • This role is based in our office and is not remote. Regular in-office presence is expected during standard business hours.


Physical Demands:

  • Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions. 
  • Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. 
  • Occasional lifting or movement of materials up to 50lbs
  • Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • Can sit at a computer for long stretches of time 
  • Able to travel both domestically and internationally 
  • Available outside of normal business hours for occasional phone calls 
  • Comfortable with conducting interviews via phone or video calls


Additional Notes:

 This role requires flexibility during Edge Orientation and Debrief periods. Due to the timing of these events and travel logistics (e.g., flight arrivals and departures), the Edge Coordinator is expected to work one Sunday, with the possibility of up to three additional Sundays each summer.
