We are looking for a talented, skilled and compassionate Development Assistant to work 16 hours, 3 days per week in our Norwell office. This person will be responsible for gift processing, ensuring all cash, checks, pledges, credit cards, electronic transfers, matching gifts, and stocks are processed accurately.

 

What will you be doing:

 

  • Coordinates mail and online gifts for processing and deposit.
  • Enters gifts into fundraising database.
  • Produces acknowledgement correspondence to donors.
  • Under direction of Development Officer/Operations and in collaboration with Major Gift Officers, ensures that restricted gifts and event/sponsorship donations are acknowledged in appropriate funds.
  • Assist with event operations and coordination as needed.
  • Orders department supplies and maintains operations filing system.
  • Works to enhance the understanding of the philanthropic mission of NVNA and Hospice among colleagues, volunteers, donors, and the community at large.
  • Assures agency compliance with all federal and state laws as well as adhering to the NVNA Corporate Compliance policy in the prevention of fraud and abuse on behalf of the agency.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

 

What we’re looking for in you:

 

Education:

  • Associate’s degree

Experience:

  • Database experience preferred
  • Handling of cash, credit card etc. preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills (data base, Excel, MS Word, Outlook). Donor Perfect software experience a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to effectively interact with leadership and colleagues
  • Flexible, dependable, organized and detail-oriented
  • Reasonable math skills, recording and handling funds
