We are looking for a Senior Director, Quality Assurance to lead our QA strategy across multiple studios and projects, ensuring the highest level of polish, playability, and compliance in our games. Responsibilities:- Develop and drive the overall QA strategy, balancing manual testing, automation, and AI-driven methodologies to improve efficiency and coverage.
- Partner with development teams to integrate QA earlier in the pipeline, collaboratively planning test strategies that enhance game quality from concept to post-launch.
- Lead a high-performing team across multiple locations, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Iterate test automation frameworks, leveraging tools and AI-driven solutions to improve scalability, reduce regression testing time, and catch issues faster.
- Ensure compliance with platform certification requirements (Xbox, PlayStation, PC, cloud gaming), as well as accessibility requirements and goals, working closely with first-party partners and internal teams to maintain smooth submissions.
- Drive AI and ML testing strategies, exploring how AI can be used for bug prediction, procedural playtesting, and intelligent automation of complex game systems.
- Own QA reporting and insights, establishing KPIs, dashboards, and risk assessment tools to inform stakeholders and proactively mitigate issues.
- Champion player-first quality by ensuring our games deliver immersive, stable, and polished experiences that exceed player expectations.
- 10+ years of experience in game QA, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing large teams across multiple locations.
- Proven experience collaborating with game development teams to create and execute test plans that align with creative and technical goals.
- Expertise in test automation and familiarity with modern tools like Selenium, Unreal Engine testing frameworks, Unity Test Runner, and AI-driven testing solutions.
- Deep knowledge of compliance, performance, and certification processes for major gaming platforms (Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, cloud gaming).
- Experience implementing AI and machine learning techniques in testing, such as procedural playtesting, AI-driven bug detection, and reinforcement learning for quality prediction.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a passion for mentoring teams and driving cross-functional collaboration.
- A love for Bethesda games and an appreciation for deep, open-world RPGs that emphasize player choice.
Senior Director, Quality Assurance - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $140,000 - $220,000 per year.
ZeniMax has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
