Position Summary:
The Family Entertainment Center Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Family Entertainment Center, ensuring a fun, safe, and high-quality experience for all guests. This role involves managing staff, coordinating activities, ensuring the proper maintenance of attractions, and ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining a clean, safe environment. The Manager plays a critical role in staff development, operational efficiency, and the implementation of promotional events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of all activities and attractions within the family entertainment center, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Coordinate the setup, scheduling, and staffing of all games, attractions, and events.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and address maintenance issues promptly.
- Monitor the flow of guests to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience.
- Staff Management & Training:
- Supervise, train, and manage staff to deliver excellent customer service and ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
- Schedule staff shifts based on peak times and special events, ensuring adequate coverage.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering feedback, training, and development to improve team performance.
- Lead team meetings to communicate updates, discuss issues, and promote team morale.
- Customer Service & Guest Experience:
- Foster a positive, friendly, and safe atmosphere for guests of all ages.
- Resolve customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Oversee event planning and special group bookings, ensuring parties and events run smoothly.
- Work with the marketing team to create promotions or special offers to increase guest visits.
- Safety & Cleanliness:
- Ensure that safety standards are met in all areas of the entertainment center.
- Monitor staff and guest activity to prevent accidents or unsafe behavior.
- Oversee regular cleaning and maintenance schedules, ensuring facilities and attractions remain in top condition.
- Handle emergency situations according to company procedures and ensure staff are trained in emergency response protocols.
- Budget & Financial Management:
- Assist in developing and managing budgets for the entertainment center, ensuring expenses are controlled and profitability is maintained.
- Monitor sales and track financial performance, implementing strategies to improve revenue.
- Ensure proper cash handling, including supervising transactions and managing point-of-sale systems.
- Event Coordination & Promotion:
- Plan, organize, and execute special events, promotions, and activities designed to engage families and encourage repeat visits.
- Work closely with marketing and sales teams to promote events, attract new customers, and enhance brand visibility.
- Coordinate logistics for group parties, private events, or community outreach initiatives.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with all departments (customer service, food and beverage, maintenance, and marketing) to ensure operational success.
- Encourage open communication, teamwork, and problem-solving among staff members.
- Participate in management meetings to discuss performance, goals, and future initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Recreation Management, or a related field (preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role in a family entertainment center, amusement park, or similar leisure environment.
- Experience in staff management, event coordination, and customer service.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a high-energy environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and guest service excellence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs (e.g., event materials, promotional items).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with fluctuating noise levels.
Work Environment:
- Family Entertainment Center Managers may work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- The work environment is often high-energy, particularly during peak hours (weekends, holidays, and special events).
- Flexibility is required as shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- The role may involve managing large crowds, including families and children.
