Description
Lakeside Renovation & Design is seeking a skilled and reliable Drywall Hanger and Taper to join our growing team. This role is responsible for installing drywall sheets and finishing surfaces on residential renovation and remodeling projects. The ideal candidate will have experience hanging drywall, taping seams, applying compound, and achieving a smooth, paint-ready finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, and install drywall to cover walls and ceilings
- Secure drywall panels to wood or metal framing using screws, nails, or adhesive
- Tape seams between drywall sheets and apply joint compound
- Smooth out excess compound and sand dried layers to prepare surfaces for painting
- Patch holes and repair existing drywall when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work closely with project managers, painters, and other tradespeople to maintain project timelines and quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in drywall hanging and finishing (2+ years preferred)
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install drywall
- Skilled in taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in drywall installation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Punctual, dependable, and able to work well in a team setting
- Safely work on ladders and scaffolds
- Able to keep a clean job site at all times
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in residential remodeling or renovation projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Knowledge of moisture-resistant and fire-rated drywall products
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification (not required, but a plus)
