Description

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Under the supervision of the Dental Practice Manager, The Lifetime Smiles Project Coordinator is directly responsible for the coordination and completion of objectives set forth by this project. These objectives include facilitating access to dental care and services, arranging/facilitating oral health screening, facilitating volunteer oral health services, working with the Oral Health Coalition, and oral health education and outreach.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Fulfill strategies to effectively accomplish program goals.
  • Identify and facilitate purchases of approved educational and training materials.
  • Assist with the development of the oral health media campaign
  • Conduct and assist with the evaluation of the oral health media educational campaign.
  • Coordinate educational outreach efforts with project partners, including but not limited to schools, community learning centers, parent groups, dental professionals, and the general public.
  • Prepare and submit required project reports in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with evaluation activities.
  • Attend required/recommended project meetings.
  • Identify individuals eligible for dental assistance and made appropriate arrangements for care.
  • Facilitate activities of the Oral Health Coalition.
  • Comply with all requirements of the organization’s corporate compliance program as approved by the Board of Directors
  • Other duties as may be assigned or required by the Dental Practice Manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED certificate. 
    • Experience working in the dental field a plus
    • Current CPR certification
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Professional manner and appearance
    • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills
    • Current Class C driver’s license.
    • Fluency in English & Spanish preferred.
    • Traveling required 3 times a week

 

Additional Requirements

 

  • Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements such as extreme

       temperatures, unpleasant odor and/or loud noises.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to

maintain sufficient visual acuity to read, write and operate equipment.

  • Position requires sufficient hearing level to effectively communicate with people

directly or by telephone.

  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling average-weight objects up to 20-50

pounds, assisting with patients and standing and/or walking for most of the day.

  • Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training.

Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and

             situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of       

             protective equipment.
