Additionally, the individual will be asked to verify insurance, collect payment for eyewear, and complete other administrative tasks as assigned by the optometrist. Create Your Path: The Work You’ll Do:
- Respond to all patient calls/requests and assist the patient with the outside referral process. Assist patient in coordinating care with other health care providers.
- Works at Vision Clinic front desk greeting patients, answering phone calls, and scheduling/confirming patient appointments. Collect payments and completes end of day tasks.
- Assists with scanning protected health information into NextGen EHR system. Complies with HIPAA rules and maintains all patient information confidentially and securely.
- Order contact lenses and dispense to patient upon arrival.
- Assists with confirmation of Community Member/Contract Health benefits and insurance
verification. - Gather and maintain confidential patient information to ensure accurate records for medical reasons and billing purposes.
- Assist in special projects as assigned by the optometrist.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of optical or medical front desk experience preferred.
- Good computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as other business related software as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must hold and maintain Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
*If not CPR certified upon hire, must obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
