Job Summary:

The Nebraska Market President provides leadership to the Omaha Commercial Lending team and works with Lending leadership and corporate executives to expand commercial market presence in alignment with Bankers Trust's strategic plan. This position will originate and service commercial lending relationships and provide supervision and training to assigned commercial team members. The Nebraska Market President is responsible for the division’s bottom line results including budgeting and strategy development. This position will recruit and retain top talent in the Nebraska market and be a visible member of the community by participating in non-profit activities.

Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:

  • Participates in Senior Lending Committee (up to 2x per week)
  • Ensures high asset quality and performance & monitors portfolio and activity of the lending function across all product types
  • Oversees Business Development activities and prepares/updates CRM forecasting/pipeline reports
  • Sets and executes multi-year strategy for Omaha asset and revenue growth
  • Mentors/coaches Relationship Managers as needed on calls and with loan structuring activities
  • Analyzes, grades, reports, and monitors credit quality
  • Analyzes and monitors customer profitability and ensures yield and profit hurdles are being met (i.e., target ROE of 12% or higher; ROA of 1.25% or higher)
  • Maintains visibility in the Omaha community via participation in non-profit board service
  • Participates as a member of the Bank’s Management Committee
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and adherence to Loan Policy
  • Provides leadership for the team in the goal setting process
  • Leads the teams' talent development process through regular monthly 1:1 coaching conversations, talent reviews, the use of regularly updated development plans, and annual reviews
  • Participates in developing the annual budget
  • Participates in ALCO meetings and ALLL meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • College degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • At least 10 years of commercial lending experience
  • Combination of C&I and Commercial Real Estate experience preferred
  • At least 8 years of leadership experience including a strong track record of leading and growing high performing teams
  • Four-year college degree in a related field preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Ability to set and execute on strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to assist officers with handling and structuring complex credits
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with customers, employees, internal stakeholders in other locations, and others as needed.
