TADSS Instructor/Operator 

FITT Scientific has a requirement to provide TSC Warehouse and Training support to the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS), providing training support services to tenants and units of the Fort Benning region.  This support includes the TSC warehouse operations associated with the receipt, storage, accountability, short-term loan, long-term loan, issue, transfer, turn-in, packaging, shipment, serviceability checks, repair, preventative maintenance, Training Support-Materiel Army-wide Tracking System (TS-MATS) and Army accountability document preparation, historical digital and/or hardcopy record keeping of all standard and non-standard Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) equipment and Graphics Training Aids (GTAs) associated with the mission support functions.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

Successful candidates will conduct the following tasks:

  • Instruct users as needed on the safe use and operation of TADSS (Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations) i.e., Soldier Monitoring System (SMS), Stinger Trainer, Artillery and Gunfire Simulators, Improvised Explosive Device Effects Simulator (IEDES), and replacement versions for these systems.
  • Coordinate scheduling of TADSS, and resolve conflicting requests for TADSS, ensuring for maximum usage and availability.
  • Perform startup, operation, and shutdown IAW applicable technical publications.
  • Capture and report usage rates in TS-MATS.
  • Replicate IEDs using training kits on hand used by enemy and ensure they are emplaced, detonated, and employed appropriately during training.
  • Be able to attend and complete the Range Safety Briefing Course, Ammo Handler’s Course, and become familiar with the Fort Benning Training Areas.
  • Provide training and certification to Soldiers completing training who will be authorized to operate the device and maintain a master list.
  • Attend training on new TADSS and receive sustainment training on upgrades to be certified as "train-the-trainer".
  • Perform system calibrations, diagnostic checks, user level Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and troubleshooting to identify faults.
  • Perform maintenance operations for all TADDS, regardless of type.
  • Conduct functional and diagnostic testing to determine disposition (maintenance, refurbishing, and replacement). The Contractor shall tag equipment with faults discovered to avoid issuing equipment which is awaiting repair.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, checks and services (PMCS) IAW the appropriate manual and at designated intervals.
  • Conduct user-level maintenance IAW the appropriate manual.
  • Prepare TADSS for reissue.
  • Maintain maintenance records for readiness, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Schedule periodic training systems/device certification courses of instruction as needed.
  • Attend the Range Safety Briefing Course, Ammo Handler’s Course, and become familiarized with the Fort Benning training area.
  • Be able to draw IEDES Pyrotechnic from Ammo Supply Point. The Contractor shall store and account for all Pyro properly in the Arms Room.
  • Dispatch, operate, maintain and perform operator level preventative maintenance and conduct minor maintenance on government owned vehicles.
  • Replace batteries as needed based on usage.

Basic Requirements


 Successful Instructor/Operator candidates must be able to perform duties regarding moderate assisted lifting (not to exceed 60 lbs.), long periods of standing, sitting, or walking, and endure inclement weather conditions on occasion. Successful candidates must maintain a valid Common Access Card (CAC) and must be able to maintain a valid driver's license.  Previous experience in the same or similar role is a plus. Having a Class-A CDL is a plus.
