ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • ·         Oversees dining room (houseguests, banquets, weddings, meetings) and staff throughout the day
  • ·         Schedule employees, assign table sets and check their time in Dimensions
  • ·         Assign & oversee training of new employees
  • ·         Ability to coach staff & deliver feedback & guidance in an effective manner
  • ·         Involved with Recruiting, hiring, firing policies and procedures
  • ·         Conduct pre-meal meetings with waitstaff
  • ·         Handle guests situations and address as needed in a timely manner
  • ·         Communicate with managers and staff regarding pertinent information primarily including the waitstaff, other managers, kitchen, wedding coordinator, corporate coordinator & front desk.
  • ·         Ensure guests have a positive experience; ability to turn around if not
  • ·         Maintain standards & expectations of a neat and clean dining room, eye for detail
  • ·         Knowledge of menu, agendas and special diets
  • ·         Uphold grooming standards, company guidelines, rules and procedures
  • ·         Setting up & breaking down the dining room properly for houseguest, weddings, banquets & meetings
  • ·         Be willing to work as waitstaff during the “off season”

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES

  • ·         Food and Beverage Leadership Experience and Background preferred
  • ·         Management of the day to day operations of the dining room assigned
  • ·         Focus on cooperation & teamwork; Lead by example
  • ·         Computer skills & proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • ·         Neat and Professional Appearance
  • ·         General knowledge or willingness to learn A/V set up
  • ·         Ability to adjust; be flexible; detail oriented
  • ·         Ability to communicate information clearly
  • ·         Ability to listen carefully in order to understand and respond to guests concerns
  • ·         Enthusiastic and ability to motivate others
  • ·         Flexible schedule-nights, weekends, holidays, long shifts

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, there are sometimes times where you may stand for long hours, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and taste or smell.  It is required that the employee be able to lift, turn or exert force more than 30 pounds.  Physical duties include rolling tables, dragging chairs, setting up and cleaning up the event. 

EDUCATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS  Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business practices. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, employees, and professional associates.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest, commissions’ proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

COMPUTER SKILLS  Good computer skills are required to perform job responsibilities.  Knowledge of Excel Spreadsheets, Microsoft Word required. Knowledge of point of sale systems is preferred.
