The HR Generalist role is critical in its focus to providing exceptional internal customer service through collaboration with our onsite team members. The HR Generalist will have the opportunity to manage key projects on behalf of the team and will be offered exposure to all elements of the HR function.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Acts as first impression manager, greeting all staff entering the HR Suite and fielding inquiries for proper resolution
  • Supports the team where needed in working with the internal customers addressing questions or concerns, including answering HR policy and process questions
  • Assists team in the management of job descriptions, org charts and other key documentation and reporting
  • Partners with managers to develop job-specific onboarding checklists
  • Provides support/counsel/coaching to staff on various HR-related topics such as time off, performance, and compensation
  • Creates and maintains staff files and records electronically in network drive
  • Implements and manages retention programs (Mentor/Buddy program, etc.) and serves as member of the retention committee
  • Ensures compliance with labor regulations
  • Maintains the company staff position list
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action plan; files EEO-1 and VETS 100 reports annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to meet EEO regulations 
  • Coordinates the Intern and Volunteer programs
  • Conducts employee orientation and onboarding programs to ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the company
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 2-5 years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Proficiency in leveraging HR technology to manage HR transactions

Preferred:  

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and or (SHRM) certification
  • Experience with UKG (or similar HR Information system) 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • In-depth knowledge of basic HR principles and practices required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Teams required
  • Strong organizational, communication, people and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task, detail oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills to work independently 
  • Must possess effective oral and written communication skills; proven excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
