Accredited by The Joint Commission, Hudson Behavioral Health is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization providing Behavioral Health Treatment in Salisbury, Maryland. Since its inception in 1980, Hudson Behavioral Health has been providing cutting edge treatment for Substance Use and other co-occurring disorders. Our services include Detoxification, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Partial Hospitalization, Treatment, 3.1 Housing and Outpatient Mental Health.
The Compliance Coordinator supports the Director of Compliance in maintaining agency-wide adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards. This role is responsible for conducting audits, coordinating documentation, assisting with licensing activities, and supporting corrective action efforts under the direction of the Director.
COMPLIANCE
- Conduct Objective Compliance Audits: Perform routine and unannounced compliance checks across various facilities and departments to assess adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements (including COMAR, CARF, The Joint Commission), and best practice standards.
- Document Findings and Recommend Corrective Actions: Accurately document findings from audits and site visits; analyze trends and patterns; develop and propose corrective action plans (CAPs) in collaboration with supervisor.
- Perform Site Visits and Monitor Follow-Through: Conduct scheduled and unscheduled site visits to assess facility readiness, safety, documentation compliance, and service quality. Prepare comprehensive visit reports and track the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Review and Address Policy Variance Reports (PVRs): Compile, categorize, and analyze PVRs for trends and high-risk indicators. Develop and coordinate action plans to address deficiencies or risks identified, and follow up to verify resolution.
- Analyze and Report on Patient Satisfaction Survey Results: Review patient satisfaction surveys. Prepare summary reports identifying areas of strength and areas for improvement. Collaborate with supervisor to develop response strategies and monitor their outcomes.
- Support Development and Maintenance of SOPs: Support the Director in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) processes.
- Assist with Licensing and Credentialing Activities: Support the preparation, submission, and tracking of facility licensing, certification, and credentialing applications.
- Provide Support in Grievance Resolutions: Assis the Director in reviewing and investigating staff and patient grievances by gathering documentation, tracking timelines, and supporting written responses.
- Emergency Preparedness Response: Supports the Director and Emergency Response Team by disseminating communication, maintaining readiness materials, and assisting during drills and real-time emergency coordination, as needed.
- Assist with External Audits and Accreditation Preparation: Compile and organize documentation for external audits, licensing reviews, and accreditation site visits.

Requirements
REQUIRED: Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High school diploma or GED. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information. Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and ability to learn EMR and data tracking systems.
PREFERRED: 1-3 years working in compliance, health information management or risk management. Experience working in an addiction or mental health treatment facility. Working knowledge of HIPAA, 42 CFR, Part 2, and confidentiality practices in behavioral healthcare. Knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards for addiction or mental health treatment settings. Coursework or training in compliance, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, COMAR, or healthcare law. Compliance certification.
