The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Head of Procurement, based in Chicago, IL or at one of our U.S. hub locations, on a permanent basis. This is a key leadership role within our global Procurement function, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact while supporting Glanbia’s purpose-driven mission.
The Head of Procurement at Glanbia will lead the global procurement function, driving strategy, innovation, and integration across a $2.5–$3 billion spend. This role oversees a team of 100+ FTEs across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, delivering best-in-class procurement services and aligning with future acquisitions. Key responsibilities include category management, cost savings, digital transformation (including GenAI), and integrating procurement from acquired companies. The role ensures scalable growth, operational excellence, and sustained competitive advantage.
What you’ll do
- Develop and execute a global procurement strategy aligned with Glanbia’s growth plans. Champion innovation and emerging technologies like GenAI. Advise leadership on procurement trends and risks.
- Lead category management to optimize spend, drive savings, and ensure supply continuity. Oversee sourcing, supplier selection, and contracts to reduce total cost of ownership.
- Integrate procurement functions from acquisitions, aligning systems and processes. Drive change management to build a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Manage stakeholder and supplier relationships across key functions like Supply Chain, R&D, and Finance. Oversee supplier performance in quality, delivery, and compliance.
- Streamline operations using digital tools and automation to improve efficiency and transparency.
- Ensure compliance and support ESG goals through strong procurement policies and controls that meet legal and ethical standards.
- Build and develop a global procurement team, fostering talent growth, innovation, and continuous learning.
The Skills you will bring to the team
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Proven track record (15+ years) in global procurement leadership roles, ideally within multinational organizations and across multiple business units.
- Extensive experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry or similar sectors, with a deep understanding of procurement and supply chain operations supporting both B2B and B2C business models. This includes managing supplier relationships, ensuring quality and compliance, and driving sustainable sourcing practice in a growth business of a similar nature.
- Demonstrated experience working for organizations with a significant global procurement footprint, including experience managing teams and suppliers across multiple regions and continents.
- Demonstrated experience in leading procurement transformation, integration of acquired entities, and optimization initiatives.
- Deep expertise in category management, strategic sourcing, supplier management, data driven decision making and cost optimization.
- Strong change management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership skills.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and financial acumen.
- Experience with digital procurement tools and process automation is highly desirable.

Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in IL. The annual salary for IL based employees for this role is $280,000 - $350,000 plus an annual bonus. This range may not be applicable to other locations. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role.
