- Ensure that accounting for monthly / quarterly / yearly closing are completed on time and accurately
- Review monthly financials for reporting submission
- Prepare and / or review monthly closing journal
- Review accounts reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Review monthly bank reconciliation
- Control chart of a/c, review consistency, control a/c creation and archive
- Assist Finance Manager (FM) in preparation and documenting accounting policies and procedures.
- Review and propose updates to provision policies in accordance to business needs and accounting standards
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting standards
- Internal and External Audit review support
- Assist in preparation and review of Annual Statutory Accounts and XBRL filings
- Prepare / review commission payments for payroll processing ensuring alignment with the commission structure
- Prepare and / or review payroll journals
- Review for internal revenue elimination
- GST and tax
- Provide assistance and research correct treatment
- Review and submit quarterly GST returns
- Prepare and / or review tax & deferred tax computation for accounting provision
- Finalise corporate tax computations for review by Head Office and tax consultants
- Implement and review controls
- Continuously review processes to ensure that adequate controls are in place
- Recommend and implement new controls / improvements to strengthen financial governance
- Feasibility studies / capital expenditure purchases
- Provide financial evaluations for new projects / purchases
- Review government tender submissions for financial requirements such as bankers’ guarantees and working capital requirements.
- Assist in periodic tender exercises
- Provide advice, guidelines and instructions to shared services centre and operations on new issues / clarify current practices
- Preparation and finalization of budget and forecasts
- Support the reporting team in preparation, consolidation, and finalization of annual budget and monthly forecasts
- Provide monthly variance explanations to support the FP&A team in management reporting and planning activitiesReview and co-ordinate insurance coverage of company’s assets
- IT matters
- Collaborate with the IT team to test newly developed programs, ensuring they function as intended and meet business requirements.
- Set up system parameters and interfaces in Accounting system for new models and / or franchise.
Requirements:
- More than 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting
- Good Excel skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive mindset, with the ability to drive continuous improvement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
