This role in summary
The candidate will join a global team and will be responsible for the development of software for real-time embedded systems applied to Cooking home appliances (e.g. induction cooktops, ovens and hoods) based on microcontroller electronic boards.
We are seeking candidates for a position of Software Engineer within the GPO - Electronics & Electrical Systems (SES) organization of Whirlpool R&D, located at our Technology Center in GTEC, India.
Your responsibilities will include
Developing firmware and software for home appliances
Executing Software V&V, Unit Testing and Integration Testing
Implementing Test Automation methodologies
Supporting project development for mass production or advanced technology prototypes
Interacting with cross functional engineering teams across the company
Diving into and taking ownership for critical design issues
Participating in global design reviews
Addressing all aspects of technology readiness, including manufacturability
Helping build robust methodology and processes to deliver technology to products
Key responsibility: be accountable for SW projects → Development, Maintenance and Quality.
The candidate will work closely with multi-disciplinary groups including System Design, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Reliability and Operations, to drive key aspects of engineering of consumer electronics products.
The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of power electronics engineering, analog electronics and microprocessor architecture.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor or Master degree or PhD in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or equivalent
3 to 6 Yrs relevant experience, Understanding of microcontroller based embedded electronics, involving sensors, actuators, communication protocols and algorithms optimized for embedded, leveraging:
C programming language (multipurpose micros) or Javascript (Espressif ESP32)
Firmware coding and debugging in C and/or Javascript
Embedded electronics and microcontrollers
Debugging tools and software for microcontrollers
