POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Sales - Brazil, leads the strategy to identify, expand and prioritize volume development opportunities within the Brazil territory. Additionally, this position would identify new business opportunities to achieve or exceed the budgeted sales plan, including the development of new markets. The Director provides leadership for three Regional Sales Managers in Brazil, ensuring the team’s quarterly and annual sales targets and new market openings are consistently met. The person in this role initiates and develops effective relationships with key customers to maximize growth and market share while partnering with customers to identify category and trend opportunities for increasing sales in Brazil. They must communicate effectively across various organizational functions to facilitate operational efficiency in service to Tampico’s customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Direct and develop sales team with timely feedback to modify and improve performance standards.
  • Manage sales promotional budget for Brazil.
  • Work with managers to assist them in development of new markets in Brazil and continuously assess performance of current partners.
  • Create key performance indicators, while tracking and focusing on value drivers (distribution, displays, flavors, and package development).
  • Identify and establish new business opportunities in Brazil and develop key retail and customer relationships to maximize growth and market share.
  • Collaborate with internal Legal resources to ensure accurate and timely revisions of rolling contracts and negotiation of new contracts.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Strategy departments to understand key market dynamics through Nielsen/Syndicated data and custom research.
  • Communicate with regional and international team members within assigned market territories and attend and support the planning of periodic (quarterly) sales meetings to create and communicate plan goals for the upcoming year with the international sales team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7-10 years’ Director level experience in leading a sales or marketing team in Brazilian markets for food or beverages.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, and/or Marketing; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Sales leadership experience in coaching an international sales team.
  • Financial and analytical abilities managing sales metrics, promotional budgets. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Results oriented, attention to detail with a sense of urgency.
  • Written and verbal fluency in Portuguese and English is required; Fluency in Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to travel locally 50% of the time and internationally on a quarterly basis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Experience.
  • Must currently reside in São Paulo, Brazil.
