Job Summary

Job Title: Staff Engineer (12+ Years Experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Platform Engineer with 12+ years of experience to join our platform engineering team. This role will play a critical part in designing, building, and maintaining the internal platforms and tools that enable software development teams to work efficiently and effectively.

As a Staff Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing golden paths to streamline development processes across the organization. Your expertise will be crucial in enhancing application observability, ensuring robust monitoring and diagnostics capabilities. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create scalable, resilient, and efficient platforms that support the organization's strategic goals and drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee implementation of Windows Server solutions including Configuration Manager (SCCM), Group Policy, and CIS-based security hardening
  • Define and enforce best practices for patch management, server software deployment, and disk space remediation 
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex infrastructure issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure capabilities with business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with CIS benchmarks and internal security standards 
  • Monitor system health and performance, proactively addressing risks and inefficiencies.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to reduce toil and increase reliability.
  • Contribute to infrastructure roadmap planning and capacity forecasting.
  • Partner with leadership to evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies.

Key Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Windows Server engineering, including SCCM, Active Directory, and GPO.
  • Proficient in Ansible automation, especially in writing playbooks and roles for patching, reporting, and orchestration.
  • Solid understanding of the Vulnerability Management Lifecycle and remediation planning.
  • Experience in administering Group policy and Active Directory for server management, access control and compliance enforcement.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Powershell, YAML) for automation tasks and system integration.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and AMI Baking/image lifecycle management.
  • Strong problem-solving, change management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or related fields.
  • Advanced knowledge in AWS and Azzure Infrastructure
  • Advanced knowledge in scripting like Python
  • Advanced knowledge in IaC tools Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Advanced knowledge in designing and implementing CI/CD pipeline with tools like Jenkins, CodePipeline, or similar
  • Good knowledge of version control tools like GIT, Bitbucket or Team Foundation Server
  • Adept in System & IT operation – Windows and Linux OS administration.
  • Understanding of networking principles and technologies (DNS, Load Balancers, Reverse Proxies), Microsoft Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).
