Role Title: Onshore Ceded Reinsurance Technician
BU/Segment: Insurance
Location: UK
Employment Type: 6-month FTC – view to permanent.
Summary of the role:
Minimum 8-10 years of ceded experience with in-depth domain knowledge, including managing end-to-end ceded reinsurance process that include managing complex reinsurance treaty and Facultative (FAC) contracts, with strong knowledge of London Market Reinsurance
The individual will be one of the main points of contact for placement/purchasing team, broker relationships, regulatory returns, audits (internal, statutory, and external), Claims, Finance and Risk team.
As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:
- Handling reinsurance contracts- Treaty, Facultative (FAC) set-up
- Perform cession calculations and validate, ceded premium and loss results from the reinsurance system
- Preparing bordereaux, XOL and FAC billings to be sent to brokers/Reinsurers
- Collection of open recoverable, handle market queries
- Invoice review, Receivable/Payables reconciliation & settlement, agree LORS settlements
- Cash reconciliation and allocation
- Manual JE prep / support/ Topside allocation
- Deposit premiums adjustments
- Working closely with Client Ceded Re Operations Manager, represent Ceded Re Operations during internal audits, external audits, reinsurer audits and control assessments.
- Conduct regular service meetings with RI brokers and help build more effective relationship with proactive issue resolution.
- Build strong in person engagement with Client Ceded Re team, along with Claims, Underwriting and Finance teams.
Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or equivalent
Experience/Knowledge
- Minimum 8 years of ceded experience with in-depth domain knowledge, of Ceded Reinsurance process, with strong knowledge of London Market Reinsurance
