About the Role
As an Agronomy Strategic Account Manager at Landus, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and growing relationships with our legacy customers while helping to identify new agronomy prospects. Working closely with the Growth Specialists and Grain Team, your primary focus will be to ensure the continued success and loyalty of our current agronomy clients and expand Landus’ footprint in the agronomy space. This position combines strategic account management with hands-on support, including in-person visits to customer farms, and participation in industry events. You will be a key part of a remote team but will also have occasional travel requirements to engage directly with farmers.
What will you do?
- Maintain and Grow Legacy Accounts: Cultivate strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring that their agronomy needs are met and helping them maximize the value of Landus’ products and services. Focus on customer retention and satisfaction to ensure long-term loyalty.
- Collaborate with other Landus One Teams: Work alongside the Grain team to identify new agronomy prospects, providing expertise and insights to target high-potential leads and increase agronomy sales.
- Accurate Documentation: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, technical issues, and resolutions. Ensure data is entered into the CRM system to track progress and help identify areas for further customer support.?
- Account Management and Consultation: Provide tailored agronomy solutions to customers, ensuring their success in crop production by recommending appropriate products and services, and helping them navigate challenges like pest and disease management, soil health, and crop nutrition.
- Farm Visits and Customer Engagement: Travel to customer farms as needed to build personal relationships, assess field conditions, and provide on-site agronomy support, ensuring clients feel supported and informed.
- Event Attendance and Promotion: Actively participate in agronomy and industry events. Encourage and support customers' attendance at events, acting as a representative of Landus to educate and engage customers, and generate new leads.
- Sales and Goal Achievement: Meet or exceed sales goals for agronomy products and services, tracking progress and ensuring that the pipeline is consistently filled with high-value prospects.

How will you have an impact in this role?
As a key business leader, this role must act to position Landus farmer-owners at the center of all we do and build a culture of sales and growth across the business units. Identifies, develops and executes new growth opportunities. Cultivates strategic relationships, conducts business planning, leads market development and stewards margins and P&L. This position will develop, coordinate and implement grain marketing strategies and provide sound agronomic recommendations to Landus farmer owners. This position will also work jointly with team members to perform forecasting, budgeting, sales, territory planning, and manage accounts receivable. You will always be a champion of Landus GPS and the Landus Way – Agility, Courage, Teamwork and Speed (A.C.T.S).
What will you do?
- Promote a sales and growth culture with all employees within the Business Unit.
- Support leaning into the future of agriculture by promoting and being an advocate for new technology, data, and working with farmers to increase supply chain visibility to drive value back to the farm.
- Manage, maintain, and prioritize a list of customers and prospects to identify the best opportunities for growth across all business segments of Landus.
- Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers.
- Be an advocate for and collaborate with the GROW Solution Center, drawing upon their expertise, to provide timely information, service and support to help the customer achieve greater profitability.
- Make sound agronomic recommendations to customers by presenting solutions, products, services, technical knowledge and new concepts and innovation to maximize returns for the customers.
- Develop customer account plans that include agronomic and grain marketing objectives, and strategy and tactics for achieving growth and performance objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate potential accounts receivable risks on current and potential customers in order to minimize the company’s accounts receivable risk exposure.
- Collaborate with procurement, management, Hubs and locations to monitor projected agronomy sales in order to effectively manage inventory needs.
- Forecast sales volumes for inventory planning and budget projections.
- Disseminate customer information to all employees within the Business Unit and help coach them to assist in sales growth and market development.
- Coordinate and assist in meetings with key farmers along with the Business Unit Leader, Account Lead, and other Landus management team members.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in agronomy sales or account management, with a strong understanding of crop management, soil health, pest management, and other agronomy disciplines.
- Experience working with legacy or long-term accounts, with a focus on customer retention and relationship building.
- Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Growth Specialists and Grain Teams.
- Ability to meet sales targets and drive business growth.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present agronomy solutions clearly and effectively to customers.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to visit customer farms and attend industry events.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
