Freese and Nichols, Inc (FNI) is seeking an Account Director in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will collaborate with clients to identify and develop opportunities while expanding key clients across multiple FNI practice areas. Working closely with group and division leadership, you will serve as a resource and connection between clients and internal teams, ensuring seamless project execution that meets expectations, stays on schedule, and aligns with budget requirements.
- Develop relationships and serve as the point of contact and liaison for clients
- Conduct client-facing interactions. Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients via email, phone and in-person.
- Conduct market research to identify new business development opportunities
- Assist in implementing Freese and Nichols business development strategies
- Develop relationships with identified key and strategic client accounts
- May serve in one or more client representative roles
- Coordinate, assist and attend client events, meetings, appointments and conferences
- Oversee preparation of presentations for internal teams and external clients
- Plan, engage in, and contribute to sales presentations, including lunch-and-learns and training workshops
- Contribute to policy discussions, white papers, and research efforts that align with FNI’s mission
- May supervise activities and tasks of identified Business Development staff
- Coordinate with accounting to report on financial metrics such as bookings
- Identify areas and processes for improvement or efficiency.
- Join relevant associations and committees to stay informed about industry trends and influence decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or other related discipline or associate’s degree and related experience
- 12+ years' experience in sales and/or industry business development or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated, strong experience in leadership working with municipalities/local, state and federal governmental entities
- Previous knowledge of CRM system
- Previous knowledge of funding sources and processes to serve Freese and Nichols’ client base
