Salary Range: $51442 - $66872 Per Year

Job Summary: You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY/OA) in the COMMANDANT OF MIDSHIPMEN of NAVAL ACADEMY.

Major Duties:

  • You will prepare documents for and process all types of separations to include resignations and involuntary separations.
  • You will provide explicit guidance of the separation/check-out process to ensure that check-out sheets and other admin is complete prior to initiating separation leave.
  • You will prepare separation records for disenrolled Midshipmen which includes, but is not limited to the creation of leave pending separation orders, PCS travel orders, endorsement letters, DD785, official discharge notification and the DD214
  • You will demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of each separation and provide appropriate documentation to Congressional inquiries, parental requests for information, etc. that is consistent with the Privacy Act.
  • You will process pay transactions to initiate separation leave and final discharge to be review and approved by the Midshipmen Personnel Supervisor.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining filing systems of various records that are simple to use; 2) Utilizing Microsoft office and other office automation software in order to prepare a variety of forms and correspondence; 3) Entering data into automated database systems; and 4) Demonstrating time management skills to include: multitasking, prioritization of work tasks, meeting deadlines, and handling unexpected requests.
