As a Brakes Design Senior Engineer for Chassis, you will help develop braking technologies and components in production vehicles. Role
- Design and develop foundation brake components from initial concept to production
- Establish requirements for components based on desired vehicle attributes
- Design with excellence at system and component level, with great attention to every detail
- Work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate multiple systems in the most efficient way possible
- Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designs
- Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment
- Future technology development and implementation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of automotive industry experience, focus on braking system design
- Proven experience taking brake components from concept to production
- Proven 3D CAD skills
- Experience in prototype assembly
- Experience in technology, system, and supplier selection
- Experience in design release, change management and project management
- Ability to Travel domestically and internationally
Advantageous
- Demonstrated ability of hands-on problem solving
- Experience with brake pipe and hose, wheel end wiring harness, and pedal box design
- Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6
- Project leadership and mentoring skills
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles
- Knowledge of NVH principles
- Ability to run CAE analysis tools
- Driven-vehicle attributes development experience
- Experience and understanding of automotive mechatronics design and control theory
Education
- BS/BEng or MS/MEng in a relevant Engineering/Physics/Mathematics discipline, or equivalent experience
