Sigma is transforming how businesses run by delivering a high performance analytics platform on the modern data stack. Even the most powerful product needs a show stopping story, and that’s where the Demo Engineering team comes in. Every workbook, data app, and live demo you build is the first look thousands of prospects get at Sigma, and the bar setting assets our Sales and Marketing teams rely on every day. If you thrive on pushing product limits, love turning raw features into “wow” moments, this role is for you.
What You Will Be Doing
- Build flagship demos: Design, prototype, and refine workbooks, dashboards, data apps, and embedded scenarios that make Sigma’s newest capabilities (AI Query, Ask Sigma, writeback, no-code apps) shine.
- Maintain a scalable demo environment: Generate sample datasets, manage Snowflake & Databricks environments, and ensure consistent and reliable performance.
- Package reusable assets at scale: Turn your work into templates, scripts, videos, and datasets that the entire field can use.
- Partner & present: Work hand-in-hand with Sales, Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Partners; delivering high energy demos, and hands on workshops.
- Listen, iterate, improve: Gather feedback from a wide variety of stakeholders to prioritize enhancements, and rapidly prototype new stories for a range of different industries, use cases, and product features.
- Support special initiatives: Jump into hackathons, GTM launches; bringing your demo expertise wherever it adds the most value.
Qualifications We Need
- 1–3 years in BI: Product demos, solutions engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar role
- Familiarity with modern cloud warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks): Load sample data, tweak schemas, and run basic performance checks when a demo requires it.
- Confident Sigma workbook skills with a strong grasp of SQL: Able to shape, join, and transform data, to craft workbooks and data apps that tell a compelling story.
- Excellent communication: Presenting, writing & speaking.
- Proven demo craftsmanship: Templates, videos, scripts, and other assets that wow an audience.
- Startup-ready mindset: Flexible, adaptable, and energized by shifting priorities
Qualifications We Want (also, skills you’ll learn!)
- Experience with embedded analytics, no-code data apps, AI/ML (Sigma’s AI Query, Ask Sigma).
- Video production & editing skills.
- Experience in customer facing technical roles (sales engineering, partner engineering, pre-sales).
- Scripting or data-engineering chops (Python, dbt, stored procedures) to spin up ad-hoc pipelines or advanced transforms when you need to get creative.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- High visibility: Your demos power GTM strategy across Sales and Marketing.
- Collaborative & innovative culture: Build alongside diverse teams and directly influence product direction.
