Job Description:

Summary:

The Senior Evaluation Coordinator manages the day-to-day activities of externally funded, contractual, and special projects in the Department of Health Studies. Responsibilities include coordinating project tasks with Principal Investigators and director, overseeing project budgets in coordination with department and College staff, managing Participant/Student recruitment for sponsored programs, and data monitoring and reporting for relevant sponsored projects. This position requires self-direction and minimal supervision.

Essential Functions:

1.) Project Management

  • Under the direction of the Program Director, collaborate with the Principal Investigator (PI) to achieve the goals of the grant by ensuring that all daily activities related to the project are completed in a timely and effective matter.
  • Prepare project timelines, identify key tasks of the project, and prepare regular status reports for the PI.
  • Track local and regional food policy as it relates to project goals. Supervise research assistants (as needed) to ensure that tasks related to the project are completed correctly and on-time.
  • In coordination with the Program Director, initiate interim and final grant reports.

2.) Data Monitoring

  • Assist the Program Director with monitoring project data and metrics to meet goals and deadlines.
  • In consultation with the Program Director and Principal Investigator(s), prepare accurate updates for the funder using text and graphics as needed to best convey the information.
  • Lead data analysis, synthesis, and application through research and review of national, regional, and local food system metrics in order to develop and track a DC Food System Plan.

3.) Writing and Reporting Results

  • With assistance from the Program Director, lead project results reporting in an annual written report that describes the background, methodology, analysis, and interpretation of the project outcomes.
  • In consultation with the Program Director and Principal Investigator(s) prepare accurate written monthly reports for the funder using text and graphics as needed to best convey the information.
  • Produce a semi-annual report of project results with graphic illustration. 
  • On occasion, oral presentation to the funder will also be required.

4.) Attend Project-Related Meetings

  • To coordinate work with the internal team and the funders, attend regularly scheduled meetings to plan and discuss data analysis plans.

5.) Other Duties As Assigned

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-Time.

  • 35 hours per week.

  • Position duration is anticipated through September 2026. Continuation of the program/position is contingent upon external funding.

Salary Range:

  • $60,000 - $68,000 annually.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in health promotion programming or project management.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree or equivalent.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Experience in program management and reporting.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and web-based content management and social media systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, task management, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in order to meet key tasks as scheduled.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with university staff, faculty, and the general community.
  • Experience in working with underserved communities.
  • Experience with budget management and reporting for sponsored projects.
