Status: Full-time; Non-Exempt
Location: Kansas City, MO; #LI-Onsite
You will work with division staff to support the daily work related to our nationally touring ExhibitsUSA program. You will undertake a variety of projects that can change daily; work with staff, constituents, and other important partners, and manage confidential matters.
You Will:
- Manage the creation and maintenance of all website, blog, email blast, and print promotion content for ExhibitsUSA exhibitions, and work with our Marketing and Communications team to build social media campaigns
- Assist division staff and contracted specialists with the development, documentation, fact-checking, proofing and copy-editing, and distribution of curatorial, education, and registration materials
- Process, audit/maintenance, and archiving of booking data and project records related to touring exhibitions
- Travel occasionally to participate in local, regional, and national conferences; and serve as a contact for M-AAA's traveling exhibition programs
- Assist Division Director and staff with scheduling meetings and making travel arrangements
- Record minutes at division meetings and other meetings
- Offer interdepartmental support during staff absences
Requirements
You Have:
- 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably in a creative, nonprofit environment, with an understanding of data management practices;
- Writing and editing skills with knowledge ofthe Chicago Manual of Style
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of Salesforce, Form Assembly, DocuSign and Adobe Creative Suite
- Participative work style with the ability to assist and collaborate with a diverse group of staff and professional colleagues
- Engaged with individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds
- Working knowledge of art history and related historical or cultural contexts, along with familiarity with visual arts, museum, or gallery practices
Working Conditions: The work is mostly sedentary or of low physical activity. This includes sitting at a desk using a computer, phone, and other office equipment; and driving to locations on occasion. You will occasionally travel for meetings and conferences. While a majority of work occurs around a long-term plan, you may need to change priorities and manage additional projects with short-term deadlines that can require overtime. Hybrid work options may be considered after an initial period of in-office work.
