The IT Architect provides enterprise-wide technical vision, architectural leadership, and cross-functional planning and implementation for infrastructure systems and services. This role serves as the highest-level engineer, accountable for designing secure, scalable, and sustainable technical architectures across network, cloud, server, virtual, identity, endpoint, and collaboration platforms. The IT Architect ensures alignment with business goals, regulatory frameworks, and security standards, including ransomware prevention and recovery. This position partners with executive leadership, engineers, security, and application teams to define strategies, set standards, and guide innovation across the IT landscape. Beyond having an expert-level understanding of the organization infrastructure, specialties in areas such as Cisco networks, Microsoft solutions, Cloud architecture for AWS, Azure, and OCI, VMware and other virtualization platforms with focus on high value implementation.Required Behaviors:

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, or a related field OR ten (10) years of infrastructure engineering experience with proven architecture-level responsibilities.
- Demonstrated enterprise-level design experience across multiple infrastructure domains (cloud, virtualization, storage, identity, endpoint, collaboration).
- Advanced knowledge of ransomware protection strategies, backup validation, and recovery architecture (Cohesity, Rubrik, Veeam).
- Proficiency in hybrid cloud integration, infrastructure-as-code, automation, and endpoint lifecycle orchestration.
- Experience leading architectural reviews, roadmap development, and executive-level technical planning.
- Proven mentorship and leadership of senior engineering teams and cross-department technical collaboration.
- Manage relationships with trust, honesty, respect, and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in information systems, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture or twenty (20) or more years of experience preferred.
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, VMware VCAP, Cisco CCIE, or equivalent.
- Experience developing infrastructure strategies compliant with HIPAA, NIST 800-53, HITRUST, or ISO 27001.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture, hybrid DR/BC frameworks, and secure digital modernization planning.
- Strong financial acumen with ability to contribute to budgeting, vendor management, and TCO analysis.
- Extensive expertise in modern technology solutions in many specialty areas.
- Proven high performance in critical diagnosis and incident response during high stress situations
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own the design and strategic planning of enterprise-wide infrastructure systems and platforms.
- Define standards and governance for identity, endpoint, network, virtualization, storage, backup, and collaboration systems.
- Lead cross-functional architecture reviews, ensuring scalability, security, and supportability of solutions.
- Partner with security teams to define cyber resilience strategies and support ransomware mitigation and recovery planning.
- Collaborate with leadership to align technical strategy with clinical, business, and digital transformation goals.
- Guide platform selection, architecture blueprints, and modernization efforts through lifecycle planning.
- Mentor Engineers I–III and support technical leadership development across the infrastructure team.
- Support change control boards (CAB), solution validation, and risk assessments.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, perform feasibility studies, and lead architectural proofs of concept.
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, enterprise diagrams, decision logs, and policies.
- Highest level of support and troubleshooting expertise and mentorship demonstrated routinely within the team and organization.
- Each caregiver is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:
- Regularly on-site during scheduled shifts and quickly responsive, remote support when allowed or approved, occasional travel.
- Primarily office-based, frequent computer use; could involve long-term walking, standing, bending, or assisting with physical aspects of projects in clinical or administrative areas. Rounding during go-lives is common.
- Lifting and carrying of IT hardware and materials up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Participation in scheduled shift coverage and on-call support for emergencies, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and service-oriented communication in all interactions.
