Job Title: Sales Rep
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director of Business Development
POSITION SUMMARY: The Sales Representative – New Business is responsible for identifying, engaging, and securing new business opportunities across Smart Warehousing’s service offerings. This entry-level role is ideal for a self-starter with strong communication skills, a competitive spirit, and a desire to grow in the fast-paced world of supply chain and logistics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sell 3PL products and services—via phone, video, email, and other digital channels.
- Host on-site tours, in-person meetings, attend tradeshows, etc.
- Develop and qualify leads within an assigned territory, industry vertical, or service line
- Respond to inbound customer inquiries and proactively follow up on outbound leads
- Recommend appropriate services to meet customer needs and close sales
- Transition new clients to the correct team for long-term support
- Execute on defined sales strategies and follow established sales practices
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities in the CRM (e.g.,HubSpot)
- Prepare basic sales reports and provide updates on lead progress
- Continuously build product knowledge and develop selling skills through training and mentorship
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
“THE PERSON” | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Associates/bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 0–2 years of experience in a sales, business development, or customer service role.
- Logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines at one time
- Comfortable with CRM tools is a plus.

PHYSICAL OR MENTAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to see, hear, talk, write, read, stand, walk, bend over, and be alert at all times. The employee is frequently required to use hands to type, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. While infrequent, employee may need to visit warehouse locations in which employee may need to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, drive (vehicle), stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
