Service Credit Union is seeking a full-time BSA Manager who is a forward-thinking individual who will lead the modernization and day-to-day operations of the BSA Department.
The BSA Manager will take ownership of department operations, with a strong focus on optimizing processes, developing staff, maintaining compliance with regulations, and implementing data-driven decision-making through robust metrics. This leader will also be responsible for managing and leveraging the capabilities of the credit union’s AML monitoring platform and other emerging compliance technologies.
Pay: Starting at $100,000. Flexible based on experience.

The Day to Day:
- Oversee and mentor the BSA compliance team, fostering a high-performance, compliance-oriented culture.
- Provide day-to-day leadership while supporting professional development and succession readiness within the team. Support the BSA Officer in maintaining and enhancing the credit union’s BSA/AML & OFAC compliance programs.
- Ensure proper documentation, timely filing, and retention of SARs, CTRs, OFAC reports, and Monetary Instrument Logs.
- Lead ongoing review and optimization of the AML monitoring system, including rule tuning, alert calibration, model validation, and vendor engagement. Proactively identify ways to leverage system capabilities and integrations to improve case management and detection accuracy.
- Lead the development and testing of emerging technologies, for example Unit21, to ensure and support a scalable, proactive, and responsive AML monitoring solution.
- Collaborate with Financial Crimes Operations Analyst and IT teams to improve data integrity for BSA/AML monitoring and regulatory reporting. Ensure data sources feeding the AML system are complete, accurate, and timely.
- Work with IT and third-party vendors to assess and adopt emerging compliance technologies and automation tools.
- Serve as the lead administrator for the Verafin AML monitoring system. Oversee system optimization, configuration improvements, and ongoing effectiveness.
- Partner with business units (e.g., lending, digital banking, IT) to assess how new products, technologies, or changes may impact BSA/AML risk exposure. Provide subject matter guidance on mitigation strategies during development and rollout phases.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, finance, business or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years or more of BSA/AML/OFAC compliance experience in a financial institution.
- CMAS certification preferred.
- Experience in using and managing AML transaction monitoring systems
- Supervisory or managerial experience in a regulatory compliance or operations role.
- Strong understanding of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC regulations.
- Ability to develop and track SLA/KPIs and drive process improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data analytics/reporting tools.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
