ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead the design, planning, and implementation of new infrastructure solutions and upgrades, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices. 

  • Proactively manage and optimize performance, capacity, and availability of all critical IT infrastructure components, including Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and storage solutions. 

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot complex network environments, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks, optimizing for performance and security. Manage firewall rules, routing, and network segmentation. 

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments, leveraging services like Office 365, Microsoft Entra ID, and other SaaS/PaaS offerings. 

  • Implement, enforce, and audit comprehensive security measures, including advanced firewall configurations, intrusion detection/prevention systems, vulnerability management, and regular security assessments. Ensure strict compliance with organizational IT policies, HIPAA, and other relevant industry regulations. 

  • Develop and implement automation scripts and tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to streamline routine tasks, improve efficiency, and ensure consistency in infrastructure deployments and management. 

  • Lead the development, implementation, and regular testing of robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring data integrity and rapid system restoration. 

  • Provide expert-level (Tier 3/4) support for complex hardware, software, and network issues, serving as the final escalation point for critical infrastructure problems. 

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their growth and knowledge within the IT infrastructure domain. Collaborate effectively with other IT teams and departments. 

  • Create and maintain comprehensive, high-quality documentation for all infrastructure configurations, processes, runbooks, and architectural diagrams. 

  • Interface with technology vendors for support, procurement, and strategic planning related to infrastructure solutions. 

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred). 

  • Industry-recognized certifications are highly preferred, such as:  

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert 

  • CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CASP+ 

  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP 

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) 

  • 5+ years of experience in a Senior System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar advanced IT infrastructure role. 

  • Demonstrated experience leading infrastructure projects and initiatives. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related services. 

  • Deep expertise in virtualization technologies, particularly VMware ESXi, vCenter, and Hyper-V. 

  • Extensive experience with network design, configuration, and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi). 

  • Proficiency in cloud platform administration, specifically Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud solutions. 

  • Advanced understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) administration, including security features, identity management, and compliance. 

  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python). 

  • Proven ability to implement and manage enterprise-level security solutions, including firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), endpoint protection, and SIEM integration. 

  • Expert analytical and complex problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving critical infrastructure issues. 

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and lead technical initiatives with minimal supervision. 

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement. 

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move computer hardware and other IT equipment (up to 50 lbs), and work in data center environments as needed.
