  • Position: Data Analyst
  • Experience: Two (2) + years

  • Other: FLSA Exempt, Full-Time (37.5 hrs per week)
The Data Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting CRLA's mission by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform program development, decision-making, and reporting. Reporting to the Director of Data and Evaluation in a growing department, the person in this full-time position will work closely with stakeholders across and beyond the organization to ensure data quality, accuracy, and accessibility.Essential Responsibilities/Duties
  • Collect and organize data from various sources, including surveys, case management systems, and external databases.
  • Build (or assist the building of) data collection tools (like surveys) to support the organization’s reporting needs.
  • Develop and implement data quality checks and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain data-driven reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Clean and prepare data for analysis (including for annual reports/audits), ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and consistency.
  • Conduct data analysis using appropriate methods and tools.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and insights within the data.
  • Create visualizations (e.g., charts, graphs) to communicate data findings effectively.
  • Review, troubleshoot, and test system configurations in our case management system (LegalServer) as they relate to reporting and analytics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Serve as the data liaison, working with IT and program staff and other stakeholders to define, document, test, and implement data requirements in our case management system (LegalServer).
  • Create user-friendly, plain-language training materials and documentation for data access and analysis.
  • Document, track, and effectively communicate data-related challenges and opportunities.
Education And Experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with data and case management systems, OR 2+ years of experience with deep program knowledge, a strong ability to contextualize data, and a strong willingness to learn new technical and data skills (required)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills (required).
  • An understanding of data privacy and security best practices (or experience working with highly sensitive information) (required)
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills (required).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills (required).
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy (required).
  • Ability to work well independently and with a team (required).
  • Reliable access to high-speed internet (since this position will be remote/hybrid) (required).
  • Passion for continuous learning (learning agility) (preferred).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, PowerBI, CMS systems) (preferred).
  • Some basic project management skills (preferred)
Compensation & BenefitsWe offer a diverse, family-friendly environment and compensation based on competitive public interest salaries. The estimated starting salary for this position is between $70,000 and $88,500, depending on any related work experience prior. Generous benefits package includes 100% employer-covered medical, dental, vision, life, and short & long-term disability insurance for employees and up to 50% for dependent coverage. A 401K retirement plan with a CRLA contribution is effective immediately. The generous paid leave policy includes 15 days of sick leave, 15 holidays each year (including a birthday holiday), and vacation (accrue 15 days for the first year of service and 20 days after one year of service at CRLA). We also have a Personal Wellness Day policy, which permits the use of up to 7.5 consecutive (sick) hours, or one working day, to be used each month to promote mental health and wellness.CRLA requires that all employees be Fully Vaccinated, defined as a CDC-approved COVID vaccination and one booster shot. This offer is contingent on meeting this requirement. The complete vaccination policy, including the process for reasonable allowable accommodations, is available for your review upon request.This position will be fully remote with the expectation of some (reimbursed) travel/in-person work for things like annual conferences, training opportunities, and team-building retreats. The data department typically works a standard business schedule (i.e., 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday), but there is flexibility. Candidate has to be located in California.
