Developer Compliance is dedicated to safeguarding our platform, ensuring that applications from third-party developers meet our safety standards and policies. This role is crucial in maintaining a trustworthy environment where our users can confidently explore and enjoy diverse offerings from external creators. The Developer Compliance Analyst will report to the Developer Compliance Manager, and will serve as an expert in the detection of abusive applications and content violations in the company Developer Ecosystem. Our company is looking for a candidate with a deep understanding of the technical underpinnings of how APIs function, experience in detecting and assessing abusive behavior and fraudulent practices, and confidence in understanding and explaining highly complex issues.


You will be responsible for detecting and reporting on Developer Policy violations and recommending scaled approaches to ensuring that 3rd-party apps are not being developed or used in abusive or non-compliant ways. We're looking for someone who is highly collaborative and versatile in their approaches, has experience interpreting internal policies and regulatory mandates, and be able to communicate technical complexity and policy considerations with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Leverage technical expertise and sound judgment to review and evaluate bots and user generated content for compliance with our Community Guidelines and Developer Policy
  • Develop internal products for detecting and assessing violations in our developer ecosystem
  • Write reports and analyze trends on emerging issues within the platform ecosystem, for a cross-functional audience
  • Work with Product, Legal, Trust & Safety, and Communications teams in responding to sensitive issues
  • Analyze new and potential features and propose plans to help reduce or remove 3rd-Party abuse before it happens


What You Should Have

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience
  • Experience with utilizing APIs and/or SDKs.
  • Experience composing and understanding advanced SQL queries, as well as the ability to compose and understand Javascript and Python based internal tools
  • Familiarity with standard software development practices, such as spec creation, code review, version control, and writing technical documentation
  • Passion for supporting our users and developers with unwavering patience and empathy
  • You thrive in ambiguous situations and get excited about figuring out solutions to complex problems, and then executing on them
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complicated findings or technical approaches in easy to-understand ways
  • A desire to work with amazing, passionate people who care deeply about solving challenging problems to keep ou a safe place for users
  • Last but not least - a collaborative attitude and a healthy dose of natural curiosity


Bonus Points

  • Previous experience enforcing and/or interpreting developer policies
  • Previous experience with cyber-security, fraud detection, and Trust and Safety work


The US base salary range for this full-time position is $152,000 to $167,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
