Role

The Analytics Engineer will play a critical role in developing and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and enabling data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering and analytics, with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills.

Core Tasks

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines on GCP using tools such as Dataflow, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver data solutions that meet business needs.
  • Implement data transformation and processing logic to ensure high-quality, reliable data is available for analysis and reporting.
  • Develop and enforce data governance and security standards, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to enhance performance and reduce costs.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, processes, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in GCP and data engineering to continuously improve our data infrastructure.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role, with a focus on analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in GCP services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Composer.
  • Experience with SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment.

Nice To Have Requirements

  • Experience with machine learning and data science workflows on GCP.
  • Knowledge of other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Certification in Google Cloud (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect).
  • Experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Cloud Composer.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD in data engineering.
