What are we doing?

We are making electronics design accessible and correct from the first print by blending generative AI, ML, and novel approaches to electronics simulation and validation. By giving every engineer intelligent and automated access to the most advanced validation tools we believe we can eliminate respins – helping engineers of all levels deliver their designs faster, cheaper, and with less waste.

Who are we?

We are a small team passionate about eliminating respins and fundamentally changing how electrical engineers deliver PCBs with higher confidence. We are an early stage company backed by the Allen Institute for AI’s Incubator, who we’ve partnered with to build a revolutionary product. Our distinguished founders are responsible for creating the largest product development firm in the US, and building Azure Quantum (and more!) at Microsoft. We know you’ll be in good company.

Are you the right fit?

We are looking for a technical lead for our development team. This person will serve as architect, tech lead, and developer for all of our services and systems spanning backend, frontend, and data + ML systems. You might be the right fit if you have extensive experience working across varied software stacks and coordinating teams of skilled engineers. As architect, you will split your time between building consensus and direction in the team to deliver on our customer-driven product development, and directly developing Cadstrom yourself. You are energized at the idea of working in a dynamic and agile environment where you will have unparalleled ability to influence technical direction, guide team members, and define your own role in a growing organization.

This person will report directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities

• Guide the technical team and build consensus between developers, electrical engineers, and product stakeholders
• Develop high quality and scalable systems across the Cadstrom stack - you don't need to be an expert on the whole stack but should be comfortable working across it
• Manage delivery of complex technical projects spanning the entire stack - ensuring the whole team is working as one without gaps
• Be a voice for the customer on the development team - ensuring we're building the right software for our customers by working with product owners and stakeholders
• Help grow and hire engineers on the team - finding the best talent for various backgrounds

What we’re looking for:

• Extensive development experience (10+ years) across various stacks and technologies, with experience in Typescript and NodeJS
• High level of familiarity with creating cloud-first services on a leading cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Deep knowledge and opinions on building a positive and productive engineering culture by defining both technical and human processes to manage and deploy software at quality and scale
• Experience hiring strong engineering candidates at all levels
• Lifelong learner - you will have unparalleled opportunities to learn and grow in the spaces of AI and electronics hardware, and this excites you
• Positive leader - the best leaders don't need authority, but lead through consensus and respect. This resonates with you.

It’s not required, but is a bonus if you are:

• Knowledgeable or experienced with electronics hardware and circuit board design
• Familiar with the EDA tooling industry
