Description:

This engineering team supports marketing needs for various services. They are focused on consistency, utility for all datasets they’re bringing in, and hold responsibility for existing tools as well as building tools that don’t exist yet.

Main Requirements

As the client is a market leader within the Tech/Engineering space the below is a non negotiable.

• Strong programming/software engineering skills in Python and PySpark, and understanding of software engineering best practices
• Strong programming and experience building applications in Python
• Proficiency in AWS data services, particularly Glue and Lambda (additionally of interest: S3, Airflow, Redshift, Elasticsearch)
• Experience with CICD tools
• Data/SQL experience
• Enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and not just getting your head down and working by yourself. Willingness to do whatever work is required (and not just the most exciting pieces).
  
  

Tech requirements:

• AWS - data engineering with AWS - mostly data services, using AWS services to build data pipelines
• S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift
• Python - use extensively, need someone who ships code
• PySpark - some services are written in
• Airflow - use airflow from AWS
• In summary - need a data engineer who is expert with AWS, with a very strong background in Python/PySpark
• In addition - they would like at least one of the resources between them to have experience with each of the following:
• AWS infra provisioning - cloud development kit, Terraform
• Docker or Kubernetes
• Databases and query optimisation
