The Mx Sys Systems Engineer will be a part of the Mx Sys PMO Engineering team responsible for architecture in alignment with infrastructure, cybersecurity, requirements management, configuration management, and test and evaluation. The Mx Sys Systems Engineer will address technical integration and architecture shortfalls in the development of ALIS/ODIN and develop and oversee plans to obtain sufficient documentation for both efficient prime vendor and alternate vendor support/modification of the ALIS/ODIN systems.

  • Modeling the optimal modernization path forward as defined in the modernization definition (i.e. architecture at all layers), re-evaluating system workflows, standardizing data management, establishing a consistent UI/UX framework, and building a robust business layer that incorporates modern architecture e.g. domain and test-driven development, and automated pipeline testing policy and quality standards
  • Assisting the Mx Sys Chief Architect to produce a Product Specification for the as-delivered ALIS and ODIN products
  • Supporting the development of a System Specification for future versions of ALIS/ODIN
  • Coordinating with other internal F-35 JPO organizations and external organizations to include the Office of the Chief Information Officer and prime support contractors on key engineering initiatives
  • Conducting searches for and identify GOTS and COTS products which can be used to replace existing ALIS/ODIN products to reduce cost and to improve reliability
  • Developing action plans for incorporating software from alternate sources, including ECPs, software sustainment plans, and plans for addressing the interfaces between software from different vendors
