About the Position
A private family based in Chêne-Bougeries, Geneva, is looking for a reliable, experienced and discreet Full-Time Housekeeper to take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep and smooth running of their home.
This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in maintaining a home to a high standard, is well organised and enjoys creating a clean, tidy and welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate will be fluent in French and English, although strong proficiency in one language combined with a good understanding of the other may also be considered.
Main Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for the general cleaning and upkeep of the home
- Dusting, vacuuming, mopping and maintaining all living areas to a high standard
- Laundry, including washing, drying, folding and carefully organising clothes and household linens
- Professional ironing and care of garments
- Keeping wardrobes, cupboards and household areas neat and well organised
- Ensuring the home is consistently tidy and presentable
- Changing bed linen and maintaining bedrooms and bathrooms
- Monitoring household supplies and informing the family when items need to be replenished
- Helping with shopping or other household errands when required
- Assisting with practical day-to-day tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the household
- Being attentive to the family's needs and taking initiative without always needing to be instructed
- Maintaining a discreet, respectful and professional presence within the home
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate
The family is looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in private-household housekeeping
- Checkable references
- Legally authorised to work in Switzerland : EU passport or valid Swiss work permit
- Meticulous, organised and detail-oriented
- Proactive and able to work independently
- Flexible and willing to assist with different household-related tasks
- Comfortable working in a private family environment
- Well presented and professional
- Fluent in French and English, ideally
