Additional Information
- Provide show coverage on the Lighting track;
- Adhere to all Scheduling, Department, and Company procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as directed by the Lighting & Video HOD. Communicate all scheduling requests and challenges in a timelymanner;
- During the running of the show, perform all duties as outlined on the run sheets (including preset, show cues, turnover, and post-show) in a safe, professional, timely and efficient manner;
- Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise;
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of all technical elements of the show under the Lighting & Video Department jurisdiction;
- Participate in work calls or department meetings;
- Execute general repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or restock of supplies and equipment as needed;
- Support systems for the maintenance, cleaning, and organization of workspaces;
- Adhere to safety rules and regulations for locality and department;
- Support gigs, trainings, rehearsals, and marketing events;
- Participate in load-in and load-out and lend assistance to other departments as needed;
- All other work-related duties as assigned.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required;
- Strong working knowledge of lighting equipment;
- The ability to troubleshoot, identify, and repair lighting technologies;
- Have a flexible schedule with communication skills;
- GrandMA 3 Console knowledge is a plus;
- The ability to work effectively in low-light environments;
- Knowledge and operation of High End Systems HOG lighting consoles;
- Experience operating video consoles during a live show;
- Knowledge of Video systems is a plus;
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle technical issues swiftly during a live show;
- Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training;
- Contribute to a safe and positive working environment at all times by adhering to and following all Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group standards, values, policies and regulations pertaining to safety using equipment and established working methods;
- Assist other departments when necessary for cross-departmental support;
- At least 2 years of previous experience, or in a similar environment;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications;
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theateror a similar field; or equivalent relevant work experience;
- Ability to obtain OSHA 10 course completion card;
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; Ability to clearly and effectively communicate viaheadset;
- Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays;
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to: climbing, crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts of time; lifting at least 50lbs, working with limited to no visibility; Full list of essential functions will be sent in the offer.
