· Familiarity with embedded systems and hardware/software integration
· Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and MAVLink
· Understanding of power systems, grounding, EMI/EMC considerations, and system-level interactions
· Experience integrating third-party hardware and software systems (sensors, radios, payloads, SDKs, APIs)
· Ability to develop and execute system-level test plans (bench and flight testing)
· Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, firmware, and system interactions
· Experience analyzing logs and telemetry for system performance and debugging
· Ability to support development from prototype through validation and iteration
· Familiarity with flight control stacks (e.g., PX4, ArduPilot, Betaflight, INAV)
· Experience with system configuration, tuning, and integration within these ecosystems
· Ability to interface systems with embedded software environments (Linux-based systems, RTOS, or companion computers)
· Experience using tools such as Git for version control and working with technical documentation
The ideal candidate would also have experience with the following (“nice to have”):
· Experience with drone, robotics, or aerospace systems
· Familiarity with mechanical integration constraints (mounting, vibration, thermal considerations)
· Experience with RF systems (video transmission, antennas, telemetry)
· Experience integrating companion computers or onboard compute (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi)
