QC Technician

About the Role

United Concrete Products Inc. is a leader in manufacturing precast concrete solutions, and we're looking for motivated individuals to join our Quality Control team. As a Quality Control Technician, you'll be trained to inspect finished precast products, learn to operate 3D scanning technology, and develop hands-on skills in concrete repair and finishing. This is a great opportunity to start a career in manufacturing and quality assurance with full on-the-job training provided.

What You'll Learn and Do

  • Learn to perform post-pour inspections on finished precast products to ensure they meet customer specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Receive training on operating a 3D scanner to verify product dimensions, embed locations, and overall accuracy.
  • Be trained in basic concrete repair techniques, including patching, grinding, and finishing work.
  • Help maintain daily and project production records.
  • Verify dimensions of cast-in embeds on finished products with guidance from experienced team members.
  • Complete daily Quality Control documentation, including scan reports and repair logs (training provided).
  • Inspect finished products for surface defects, dimensional accuracy, and workmanship.
  • Document and follow up on products that need additional patching or rework.
  • Ensure finished products are correctly marked and identified before shipment.
  • Support senior Quality Control personnel and assist where needed.
  • Help identify recurring issues during inspections to support continuous improvement.
  • Follow all plant and yard safety procedures in accordance with the Safety Manual.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Ability to start work at 4:00 AM and work a minimum of 56 hours per week (required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • At least 1 year of QC experience in industrial manufacturing or construction.
  • Experience with industrial manufacturing and construction quality processes.
  • Ability to use a steel tape measure.
  • Ability to move or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Experience with precast concrete and concrete finishing or repair preferred.
  • Experience working from drawings and customer specifications preferred.
  • Experience completing QC documentation such as inspection records, scan reports, or repair logs preferred.
  • Experience coordinating findings with production and QC teammates preferred.
  • Familiarity with crack comparator gauges, feeler gauges, sandpaper, and similar shop tools preferred.
  • Interest in pursuing ACI certification is a plus.
