Your role and responsibilities

As a Hardware Developer for Cognitive Systems and IBM Z, you will be responsible for developing test architectures, drivers, and checkers to test and verify designs used in these systems. This role involves using logic simulation or formal verification techniques to validate that the hardware design under verification functions according to specifications. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Develop Test Architectures: Design and implement test architectures to validate hardware designs, utilizing the latest technology and techniques. • Perform Validation Tests: Conduct validation tests to ensure the hardware design under verification meets specifications, using logic simulation or formal verification methods. • Build Verification Tools: Create tools required to conduct verification tests, applying Random/Deterministic Verification Principles and knowledge of Engineering Principles. • Integrate Products: Integrate products from industry-leading suppliers of I/O and networking components, requiring networking and Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) business debug skills. • Collaborate with Partners: Work with industry partners and/or customers to integrate and test products, including Ethernet, Fiber Channel, or Infiniband networking products.

Required technical and professional expertise

• Exposure to Functional Verification: Experience working with functional verification techniques, including logic simulation and formal verification methods, to validate hardware designs. • Test Architecture Development: Exposure to designing and implementing test architectures to validate hardware designs, utilizing the latest technology and techniques. • Verification Tool Development: Experience working with tools required to conduct verification tests, applying Random/Deterministic Verification Principles and knowledge of Engineering Principles. • Product Integration: Exposure to integrating products from industry-leading suppliers of I/O and networking components, requiring networking and Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) business debug skills. • Industry Collaboration: Experience working with industry partners and/or customers to integrate and test products, including Ethernet, Fiber Channel, or Infiniband networking products.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Networking Debug Skills: Exposure to debugging networking issues, including Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) business debug skills, is beneficial for this role. • Industry Partner Collaboration: Experience working with industry partners and/or customers to integrate and test products, including Ethernet, Fiber Channel, or Infiniband networking products, is a plus. • Formal Verification Techniques: Familiarity with formal verification techniques, in addition to logic simulation, can be advantageous in this position.
