Cura Health is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to join our Cura of Monticello facility. As a Health Unit Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the healthcare unit by managing communication, coordinating patient care activities, and supporting clinical staff. Key Responsibilities

• Manage communication and information flow between patients, families, nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and updated patient records and unit documentation.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments, tests, and procedures as required.
• Answer and direct phone calls, messages, and inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Order supplies and maintain inventory in coordination with the business office manager.
• Assist in creating a positive environment that supports patient care and staff efficiency.
• Comply with all healthcare policies and procedures, including confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office administration is a plus.
• Previous experience as a Health Unit Coordinator or in a medical administrative role preferred.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
• Proficient in medical terminology and healthcare documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding healthcare environment.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Compassionate, professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the unit.
