Cura of Willmar is seeking an experienced and dedicated Maintenance Director to lead and oversee all maintenance operations within our healthcare facility. The Maintenance Director is responsible for the overall operation, safety, and maintenance of the facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role oversees building systems, preventative maintenance programs, regulatory compliance, and environmental services coordination in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform routine maintenance and repairs of the building, equipment, and grounds
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable life safety codes, OSHA standards, state/federal regulations, and facility policies
  • Maintain and document preventative maintenance programs
  • Manage and coordinate repairs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Ensure facility readiness for state surveys, inspections, and audits
  • Maintain fire safety systems, including alarms, sprinklers, and fire drills in collaboration with leadership
  • Coordinate and oversee outside vendors and contractors
  • Manage department budget, supplies, and inventory
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
  • Ensure proper documentation of work orders and maintenance logs
  • Support infection control practices related to the physical environment
  • Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs and facility improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training or associate degree preferred.
  • Must hold a valid Minnesota 2nd Class “C” Boiler Operator License (2C), or be willing to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in healthcare or residential settings.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety codes.
  • Excellent organizational, budgeting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex maintenance issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Flexibility to respond to emergencies and work varied hours as needed.
