Description

THE COMPANY

Victor Sierra Aviation acquires and integrates aviation businesses across manufacturing, distribution, and MRO. We focus on improving operations, aligning systems, and scaling each company as part of a cohesive and connected organization.

The company has built a shared services infrastructure across Finance, HR, and IT that allows each operating company to run at full capacity while benefiting from shared systems, consistent data, and clear governance.

THE NEED

VSA has consolidated the technology function across several previously independent businesses. At this stage, the company needs a dedicated leader to take ownership of that effort.  The Director of Enterprise Technology will be responsible for further aligning systems, standardizing processes, and maintaining a unified technology organization.

THE ROLE

The Director of Enterprise Technology will lead a distributed, multi-site IT team and own these capabilities: acquisition integration, IT operations, ERP, information security, e-commerce, and internal custom applications and tools.  This role serves as the senior technology liaison to company leadership and is responsible for being the technology thought leader and owner of the technology roadmap.

You will report directly to the VP of Finance, lead a team of employees and MSPs across Kansas, Illinois, Alaska, Texas, and North Carolina, and act as the senior technology leader for the business.

This team has been centralized from previously independent IT functions across the operating companies. You will be responsible for shaping it into a more unified team by establishing clear accountabilities, and building the systems, architecture, and governance needed to scale.

What success looks like in the first 12 months:

  • Develop and execute VSA’s acquisition IT integration process end to end including the playbook, Day 1 assessment, infrastructure consolidation, ERP migration
  • Execute the VSA enterprise AI roadmap in partnership with Finance, Sales, Engineering, and Operations; manage the software developer who sits directly on your team
  • Reduce technology cost structure by eliminating redundancy, standardizing systems, and leveraging vendor relationships to improve efficiency
  • Deploy enterprise-wide cybersecurity and compliance alongside infrastructure standards across all sites (could include CMMC Level 2, NIST 800-171, and PCI-DSS at various sites)
  • Execute the enterprise cloud migration program (M365 and Azure), an active near-term initiative spanning all operating companies
  • Rationalize MSP relationships alongside internal help desk staff

WHO THRIVES HERE

This role is for someone who wants to build, rather than maintain. You’ll be stepping into a dynamic, acquisition-driven technology environment and bringing structure, alignment, and direction to the department.

  • You have led IT in multi-site manufacturing environments and know how to hold a distributed team together while the business is moving fast.
  • You have done acquisition IT integration before. You know what Day 1 looks like and what a clean integration looks like six months later.
  • You are hungry to leverage AI in real operational problems and can move from ideas to deployment easily
  • You communicate as clearly with a VP as with a network engineer.
  • You build teams and develop people.
