ONYX Coaches lead members through our signature ONYX Method Workout, guiding them every step of the way. They are responsible for educating clients on using the ONYX Reformer, highlighting the transformative impact of our method, and empowering them to overcome the challenges of our dynamic workouts.

Our coaches must think on their feet, adapting to support and motivate clients of varying skill levels—all while actively participating in the workout alongside our members. It’s a role that blends expertise, energy, and the ability to inspire every client to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in team meetings and events.
• Stay updated by learning new techniques and best practices.
• Build meaningful relationships with clients and the fitness community.
• Embody the ONYX brand and culture in every interaction.
• Foster a fitness environment that is welcoming and inclusive of all backgrounds and abilities.
• Promote and participate in the new member intro sales process.
• Support the studio's growth through membership sales and participation in community events. 

What We’re Looking For:

• A positive, hardworking individual who loves health, fitness, and the ONYX Method.
• Passion for helping others become the best version of themselves and achieve their goals.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Prior group fitness experience is required, with preferred experience in reformer, yoga, Pilates, or barre coaching.
• Outgoing and personable, with a strong desire to build relationships within and outside the community.
• A collaborative team player with a consistently positive attitude.
• Genuine enthusiasm for inspiring and motivating others.
• Dependable and professional demeanor.
• Confidence and comfort leading high-energy classes on a microphone, with loud music and a dynamic atmosphere—all while actively participating in the workout in front of a group.

Requirements

Experience:

Coaching at ONYX is more than a part-time gig — it's a calling. Our coaches are the heart and soul of this brand, and they play a critical role in showing up for our members every single day. 

To be considered, you must have the following experience:

• Taken at least 4 ONYX Classes in the last 60 days. We do things differently here — our coaches train alongside their members. This requirement ensures you have a real, firsthand understanding of what it takes to coach at ONYX.

• Two years of experience as a group fitness instructor in a gym or boutique setting. Experience as a recreational coach or personal trainer does not meet this requirement. Group fitness experience is essential.

Availability:

Our coaches teach a minimum of 6 classes per week and no more than 2 per day. To keep our schedule fully staffed and running smoothly, all coaches must meet the following availability requirements.

• Weekdays (M-F): You have availability at least two weekdays to be scheduled anytime between 5:00 AM and 8:00 PM, including midday shifts as needed. 
• Weekends (S&S): One weekend day per week is required. You must be available for the weekend day assigned to you between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
