Overview
Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the Raw Material Lab Technician is responsible for testing and disposition of incoming raw materials (chemical) to ensure they meet quality, safety, and production standards. This includes but is not limited to organoleptic and quantitative lab testing of raw materials and investigations related to raw materials.

Core Responsibilities
- Safety & Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and managing safe sampling, storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Sampling and Sample Testing: Sample raw materials using aseptic techniques. Independently perform routine testing (organoleptic, wet chemistry, physical testing) on incoming raw materials.
- Equipment Maintenance: Onboarding, verification/validation, cleaning, calibrating, and troubleshooting lab instruments to ensure they remain functional and provide accurate measurements.
- Data Management: Accurately documenting test results in lab notebooks and digital systems (lab logs/SAP based ERP) and generating reports for quality control teams. Escalation for Issuance of SCARs and NCRs.
- Adhere to and promote Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), Good Documentation Practice (GDocP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), CFR Part 11, and ISO 22716 standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications Needed
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a similar scientific field
- Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing or QC lab preferred
- GLP, GMP and GDocP compliant
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs.
- Availability to be onsite daily with reliable attendance during work hours
- Consistently meet individual and team goals daily
- Fit Check required prior to start date
- Advanced Instrumentation: Operating and monitoring sophisticated equipment like HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) or GC-HS (Gas Chromatography-Headspace) for detailed chemical profiling desired
Skills Required
- Proficiency with laboratory instruments (e.g., FTIR, particle size analyzer) and basic computer software for data entry.
- Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal communication)
- Strong attention to detail, proficiency with data entry, and familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ability to write SOPs and WKIs
- Ability to work cross-functionally across the organization, maintaining a positive and professional attitude
- Ability to stay on task and determine best uses of resources and time
